Paul Goerg Champagne Brut Premier Cru Tradition NV

This was given to me as a gift and I chose to open it for Mother's day.
Appearance: Creamy yellow. Bright.
Aroma: Delicate pink fruits.
Flavour: Dry, elegant structure and moderate acid.
Beautiful strawberry bouquet, granny smith apples.

This is an expensive wine but is certainly not just a 'bottle of bubbly'.
Expect gentle red berries and a shy, elusive biscuit flavour, all coaxed to the surface by strands of fine, persistent bubbles.

Highdown Vineyard Helix Rosé NV

Here is a delicious rosé produced by Highdown Vineyard, a micro-winery on the southerly side of Highdown Hill in the South Downs of West Sussex. The first vines were planted in 1985 and the small range of wines are made by owners Aly and Paul Englefield.

Appearance: Orange-pink with plenty of depth to the colour.
Aroma: Fantastic sweet strawberries-and-cream perfume.
Flavour: This dry rosé is expressive and has great structure; crisp acidity balanced by ripe fruit and just a little tannin. Soft red fruits and crushed apples.

Delicious on its own or with salty snacks!
